heavy-duty and reliable signs

In 1957, Vernal McBain and his two sons started a small drill equipment conversion shop. In 1963, Vernal’s son Raymond founded Ray-Mac Inc. and began renting out heavy equipment and steel barricades for construction work areas. Raymond noticed that during construction, the traffic needed to be redirected  to protect the drivers and road workers. Raymond then merged the two companies to create Ver-Mac and shifted the company to provide wooden flags that indicated the flow of traffic during road construction.

In 1980, Ver-Mac began manufacturing vehicle-mounted electronic arrow boards to direct traffic. Eventually, these vehicle-mounted boards became portable and stand-alone boards.

While this idea worked, the company realized that the drivers needed more information than just the flow of traffic. Because of this, Ver-Mac shifted the company to producing the solar powered electronic signaling and messaging equipment that we see all over road construction sites today.

Ver-Mac is now known for their heavy-duty and reliable signs all over the world. They continue to search for better solutions to current issues including creating products that are environmentally conscious, respond to mobile societies, and to increase traffic safety.
